Jessica Jensen, PsyD, LCP
Assessment Clinic Program Director
Dr. Jessica Jensen is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and the Assessment Clinic Program Director at Outreach. She holds a BA from Moody Bible Institute and an MA and PsyD from Adler University, specializing in Traumatic Stress Psychology. Licensed in 2023, she brings expertise in psychological assessment and therapy, focusing on complex trauma, sexual trauma, serious mental illness, and developmental and learning differences.
Dr. Jensen provides culturally responsive care, tailoring treatment to each client’s strengths and needs. She offers the option to integrate faith into therapy for a holistic approach. Committed to fostering safe, trusting relationships, she works at her clients’ pace to promote healing and growth.
Outside of work, she enjoys yoga, exploring Italian cuisine, and spending time outdoors with her dogs.
Jessica Marshall, PsyD, LCP
Director of Clinical Training | CACTC Training Director
Dr. Jessica Marshall is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and the Assessment Clinic Director at Outreach Assessment Clinic in Carol Stream. She earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary, along with a Master’s in Theology.
Dr. Marshall specializes in neurodiversity-affirming assessments for children and adults, focusing on autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities. She takes a collaborative, culturally responsive approach, using evidence-based tools to provide comprehensive and empowering evaluations.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Marshall serves as the Training Director for the Chicago Area Christian Training Consortium, an APA-accredited internship program.
Outside of her professional life, she enjoys reading fiction, adventuring with her four children, and supporting microchurches with her husband.
Michelle Marxen, MA, MBA
Advanced Doctoral Extern
Michelle Marxen is an Advanced Doctoral Extern currently completing her PhD in Clinical Psychology at Wheaton College. She holds a MA in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College and an MA in Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
Michelle provides individual, marriage, and family therapy, as well as psychological testing. She enjoys working with clients navigating complex trauma, mood disorders, emotional disturbances, relationship challenges, and conflicts involving morality and spirituality.
Her therapeutic approach is insight-oriented and grounded in a psychodynamic framework. With an international upbringing, Michelle is particularly attuned to how cultural context shapes thoughts, behaviors, and emotional experiences.
Michelle is supervised by Dr. Brian Post (psychotherapy) and Dr. Jessica Jensen (psychological testing).
Vernice Barrimond, MA
Doctoral Extern
Vernice Barrimond is a Doctoral Extern at Outreach. She earned her BA in Psychology from The Ohio State University and her MA in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College, where she is pursuing a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD).
Vernice provides individual therapy and psychological assessments, working with individuals and couples navigating trauma, life transitions, neurodivergence, identity, interpersonal concerns, and spirituality. Her approach is trauma-informed, relational, and rooted in cultural humility. She conducts comprehensive, neurodiversity-affirming assessments for children, adolescents, and adults, focusing on autism, ADHD, and learning differences. Vernice’s strengths-based assessments support insight and empowerment.
Outside of therapy, she enjoys traveling, exploring hobbies, meaningful conversations, and time with loved ones.
Vernice is supervised by Dr. Jessica Marshall.
Athena Quinn, MA
CACTC Doctoral Intern
Athena is currently completing her Psy.D. at The Chicago School and holds a master’s in clinical psychology and a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in sociology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Athena offers individual, family, group, and couples therapy, along with psychological testing. She has had training working with clients navigating a range of life experiences that includes grief and loss, faith and spirituality, depression, anxiety, life transitions, trauma, eating concerns, and self-harm.
Athena’s approach is client-centered, grounded in empathy, collaboration, and a belief in each person’s capacity to grow and create meaningful change. She strives to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered. In her free time, Athena enjoys playing badminton, cooking, and spending time with family.
Athena is supervised by Dr. Jessica Marshall (psychological testing) and Dr. Brian Post (psychotherapy).
Michael Regula
Diagnostic Extern
Michael is a doctoral extern pursuing a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology, having earned a B.S. from Liberty University.
Michael has been working with adolescents in academic and athletic settings for nearly 20 years and is transitioning that work into clinical settings. Michael’s assessment approach focuses on understanding the whole person, emotionally, cognitively, relationally, and spiritually, focusing on meaning, purpose, and growth. Michael sees assessment as a collaborative process that helps clients identify patterns, strengths, and barriers to guide clients toward purposeful, value-aligned living.
Additionally, Michael coaches high-level women’s gymnastics, serves on the Graduate Student Council, and works as a teaching assistant for the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. He enjoys time with his wife and four kids, plays golf, and reads classic literature.
Michael offers psychological assessment services under the supervision of Dr. Jessica Marshall.
Ann Wakeman
Office Manager, Clinical Program Assistant, and CACTC Program Assistant
Ann Wakeman is the Office Manager, Clinical Program Assistant, and CACTC Program Assistant at Outreach Counseling Center-Carol Stream. She has a B.S. from Indiana University and attended Fairleigh Dickinson University in their Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program with a K-8 certification.
Ann brings strong administrative expertise to her role, holding Microsoft Office Specialist certifications in Word and Excel. She is also a member of the Student Excellence Foundation board.
Passionate about Outreach’s mission, Ann values her coworkers—and, of course, Paddington, the therapy dog! Her dedication supports the smooth operation of clinical and training programs at Outreach.
Outside of work, Ann enjoys spending time with her three sons (usually on a soccer field) and being involved in her community.
