The Central Office provides organization-wide support through its various departments, including Executive Leadership, Human Resources, Grants Management, Resource Development, Marketing and Communications, Church Engagement and Volunteer Services, and the Finance Office.

Church Engagement and Volunteer Services
The Church Engagement and Volunteer Services team at Outreach builds meaningful partnerships with local churches and connects individuals to opportunities that advance our mission of serving people facing obstacles. We equip churches, volunteers, and community partners to make a lasting impact through strategic engagement, compassionate service, and intentional relationship-building. By mobilizing people to use their time, talents, and resources, we strengthen both our programs and the communities we serve.
Learning Opportunities:
- Gain a practical understanding of how nonprofit organizations build and steward strategic partnerships with local churches to advance their mission.
- Develop professional skills in relationship management, including research, communication, and stakeholder engagement.
- Learn how data and customer relationship management (CRM) systems are used to inform decision-making, measure impact, and strengthen community partnerships.
- Build experience creating professional communications, presentations, and resource materials for diverse audiences, including church leaders and volunteers.
- Strengthen research and analytical skills by evaluating best practices, identifying trends, and making recommendations to improve church engagement strategies.
- Understand how volunteers, churches, and community organizations work together to create meaningful social impact through collaborative service.
- Contribute to the development of a new organizational initiative while gaining experience in project management, strategic planning, and cross-department collaboration.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or master’s level student in Christian Formation and Ministry, Non-Profit Management or Communication a related field. Has excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in social media platforms and content management systems, basic graphic design skills and familiarity with design software, and strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Internship or volunteer experience in communications, marketing, or a related field is preferred. Outreach seeks interns who demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of low-income and diverse populations and who also support Outreach’s Statement of Mission & Faith.
Schedule/Hours:
Part-time hours, flexibility in scheduling hours between Monday – Friday, between the hours of 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.
January 2027 – May 2027 (longer internships through summer or school year possible).
Supervision:
Individual supervision is provided weekly.
