The Central Office provides organization-wide support through its various departments, including Executive Leadership, Human Resources, Grants Management, Resource Development, Marketing and Communications, Volunteer Management, and the Finance Office.

Program:
Marketing and Communications
The Marketing and Communications team supports the organization in a variety of ways, including managing the website, sharing the mission through campaigns, and assisting in all external and internal communications to develop strong community-based support for operations. The team works to increase the community’s awareness of the presence and work of Outreach through the agency’s website, press, annual newsletters, corporate identity, and community events.

Responsibilities/Opportunities:

  • Content Creation: Develop and manage engaging content for our website, blog, social media platforms, newsletters, and press releases.
  • Social Media Management: Assist in creating social media content to increase engagement and followers on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Graphic Design: Create visually appealing graphics, infographics, and other visual content to support communication efforts.
  • Event Promotion: Assist in promoting events, fundraising campaigns, and other outreach activities through various communication channels.
  • Research: Research development trends and best practices in nonprofit communication.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Monitor and analyze the performance of communication efforts, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborative Projects: Work closely with other team members on collaborative projects, contributing to the overall mission and vision of Outreach.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s or master’s level student in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field. Has excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in social media platforms and content management systems, basic graphic design skills and familiarity with design software, and strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Internship or volunteer experience in communications, marketing, or a related field is preferred. Outreach seeks interns who demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of low-income and diverse populations and who also support Outreach’s Statement of Mission & Faith.

Schedule/Hours:
(Part-time – 20 hours a week/Full-time – 35 hours a week)

Monday – Friday, between the hours of 8:30 am – 5:00 pm for a 3 month duration.

Supervision:
Individual supervision is provided weekly.
