Tanya Thomas, MA, LPC, NCC

Counseling Program Director

Tanya Thomas, LPC, NCC, is the Counseling Program Director at Outreach Counseling Center York. She holds a BA in Sociology and dual master’s degrees from Wheaton College—an MA in Intercultural Studies with a TESOL Certificate and an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Tanya provides individual, family, and couples counseling, with a passion for supporting women and those in Christian ministry, including missionaries and Third Culture Kids (TCKs). She integrates client-centered techniques, including EMDR and inner healing prayer, to foster insight and healing.

In her free time, Tanya enjoys tennis, international films, and exploring beautiful places. She’s also a dedicated Golden State Warriors and San Francisco 49ers fan.

Jess Kurpiel, MSW, LCSW

Individual and Family Therapist

Jess Kurpiel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Individual and Family Therapist at Outreach Counseling Center York. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois at Springfield (UIS) and her master’s degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).

Since obtaining her LCSW in 2021, Jess has gained extensive experience providing individual, family, and group therapy. She also holds a Type 73 Professional Educator License and specializes in treating anxiety, depression, and trauma. Jess works with children, teens, and adults, creating a welcoming, safe, and empowering environment that supports her clients’ growth and healing.

Outside of her professional life, Jess enjoys walking her dogs, hiking, working out, traveling, and attending live music events.

Anabel Le, CCA

Bilingual Office Manager

Anabel Le ensures smooth administrative operations and provides support to both clients and staff.

She values working in a Christian-based organization that helps people regardless of their financial situation. Her passion for service extends beyond her role at Outreach—she actively volunteers with the Salvation Army, assisting with summer camps, Christmas toy distributions, bell ringing, and food distribution.

Anabel is also a Certified Coding Associate (CCA) and a licensed cosmetologist, enjoying doing hair and nails for her family in her free time.

Jennifer Alfaro, BA

Bilingual Counseling Intern

Jennifer Alfaro is an LMFT Intern at Outreach Counseling Center York. She holds an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Wheaton College and a BA from Southeastern University. A pre-licensed intern, she is a Prepare and Enrich Premarital Counseling facilitator and a Circle of Security Parenting Certified Facilitator.

Jennifer specializes in individual, family, couples, and group therapy, with a focus on complex trauma, life transitions, Latino (Spanish-speaking) communities, faith and spirituality, children and adolescents, and dyadic relationships.

Her approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and culturally sensitive, integrating Intergenerational Family Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Structural Therapy, while drawing inspiration from Internal Family Systems (IFS).

Passionate about creating a safe, nonjudgmental space, Jennifer helps clients explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing practical strategies for healing and growth.
