Tanya Thomas, MA, LPC, NCC
Counseling Program Director
Tanya Thomas is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) serving as the Counseling Program Director at Outreach Counseling Center York. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and dual master’s degrees from Wheaton College—an MA in Intercultural Studies with a TESOL Certificate and an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Tanya provides individual, family, and couples counseling services with a deep commitment to supporting clients of all ages, from children to older adults. She has a particular passion for helping women navigate life’s challenges and enjoys working with individuals in Christian ministry, including missionaries, Third Culture Kids (TCKs), and Christian non-profit staff.
Using a client-centered approach, Tanya integrates techniques from various therapeutic frameworks to foster awareness, insight, and empathetic support. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and inner healing prayer, incorporating these methods as appropriate to meet her clients’ needs.
In her free time, Tanya enjoys playing tennis, exploring international films and shows, and discovering beautiful places. She’s also an avid fan of the Golden State Warriors and the San Francisco 49ers.
Jess Kurpiel, MSW, LCSW
Individual and Family Therapist
Jess Kurpiel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Individual and Family Therapist at Outreach Counseling Center York. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois at Springfield (UIS) and her master’s degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).
Since obtaining her LCSW in 2021, Jess has gained extensive experience providing individual, family, and group therapy. She also holds a Type 73 Professional Educator License and specializes in treating anxiety, depression, and trauma. Jess works with children, teens, and adults, creating a welcoming, safe, and empowering environment that supports her clients’ growth and healing.
Outside of her professional life, Jess enjoys walking her dogs, hiking, working out, traveling, and attending live music events.
