Practicing Good Stewardship, Together

The Outreach social enterprises have proven to be a vital part of our mission. We like to think of it as kingdom stewardship, and we can’t do it without you. Here’s how it works:

  1. You can share your resources by donating to one of our resale shops. It’s an easy, responsible way to deal with things you no longer use.
  2. We resell them at a fair price, making quality goods available to more people. This meets real needs and makes homes, well, homier.
  3. The proceeds benefit our local ministries, helping more people reach their God-given potential.

Jubilee Cars

Jubilee Cars is a ministry that provides vehicles for the residents at Outreach Jubilee Village. Having a vehicle to commute to work is critical to helping these mothers gain independence.

Jubilee Cars accepts donated vehicles (cars, trucks, vans, SUVs, boats, trailers) in any condition–road ready, in need of repair, and even beyond repair! Vehicles that are not provided to residents within our organization are either salvaged for parts or repaired and then sold.

Proceeds from sales underwrite Jubilee Cars operations, and any remaining balance supports Outreach’s programs.

For more information about Jubilee Cars, please contact us.

Donating Your Vehicle

Thank you for considering donating your vehicle to Jubilee Cars!

We accept most types of transportation vehicles, including cars, trucks, SUV’s, vans, boats, trailers–in all conditions. Free towing is available. All vehicle donations are tax deductible as charitable contributions to the extent provided by law. To begin, complete our online donation form.

    • Please sign the title in the box labeled “Assignment of Title” where it says “Signature of Seller” (IL titles).
    • Please make sure Outreach has your current mailing address.
    • Within 30 days, donors will receive a receipt and tax form 1098-C from Outreach in the mail.

  • Free Towing

If your vehicle isn’t running, we can tow your vehicle to one of our local facilities for needed repairs. To set up a pickup time (primarily Monday through Friday during normal business hours) please call Outreach’s main office at (630) 682-1910.

  • Donation Valuation

Tax law requires that Jubilee Cars inform the donor of the vehicle’s condition and the sales value at disposition. Once the vehicle has been disposed of, donors will be informed by mail of the vehicle’s disposition and the value of the vehicle that was established upon disposition. Typically a vehicle’s value is determined one of four ways:

    • Salvage–These vehicles are not repairable (or not financially feasible to repair) and are sold by Outreach to be salvaged for parts. The value of these vehicles is no more than $499.
    • Sale–Vehicles that run but are not given to new owners by Jubilee Cars are sold through various channels. The value of these vehicles is the amount obtained by Jubilee Cars when sold. Within 30 days of the vehicle’s sale, the donor will be informed of this value by mail.
    • Repaired then Sold–Vehicles requiring substantial repairs that are repaired by Jubilee Cars and then sold. This may take a significant time to complete. As a “repaired” vehicle, the value of the donation for these vehicles is the fair market value at the time of donation. In these instances, the donor may claim the vehicle’s fair market value at the time of donation, per Blue Book guidelines (not to exceed the private party value). Vehicles must be worth repairing to be determined by Jubilee Cars, and the donor will receive notice that the car has been repaired and disposed of.
    • Distribution–Vehicles that are given to new owners by Jubilee Cars are given freely and thus no value is established by a sale. In these instances, the donor will be allowed by the IRS to claim the vehicle’s fair market value at the time of donation, per Blue Book guidelines (not to exceed the private party value). For more information on IRS guidelines, please see IRS Publication 4303—“A Donor’s Guide to Vehicle Donations.”

We work hard to maximize the value of each donated vehicle. Vehicles not given to a client within the organization are usually sold in an arm’s length deal for the private-party value listed in the Kelly Blue Book. The goal is to extract the maximum amount from each car possible, enabling Jubilee Cars to give more vehicles away.
